The main element of his civil practice comprises claims involving industrial accidents and industrial disease. He has particular experience in claims involving WRULDs (especially Hand/Arm Vibration Syndrome), deafness, workplace stress and traumatic injuries (including head injuries). He also undertakes criminal work both for the prosecution and the defence. He has particular experience in cases involving violence, fraud, sexual offences and drug trafficking. He is a Category 4 Prosecutor.

He sits as a part-time Employment Judge.
