Having been called to the Bar in July 2007, Georgina joined Chambers upon successful completion of her pupillage in 2008. Georgina has since developed and expanded her practice predominantly in the areas of Criminal, Civil, Family and Employment. She regularly receives instructions in these fields and has experience of appearing before a variety of tribunals. She has also travelled to various parts of the country to act in such proceedings.
Criminal
Georgina has acted on behalf of the defence and the prosecution in both the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court. She has been instructed to prosecute by the Crown Prosecution Service, local authorities and the National Probation Service. She has been involved in a number of different hearings, including trials in the Magistrates Court and Newton hearings, sentencing and breach proceedings in the Crown Court.
Civil
Georgina has undertaken written advices in personal injury claims and contractual disputes . She has appeared to represent both Claimants and Defendants at trial and interim hearings in the small claims and on the fast-track.
Georgina has experience of private and public law and this is an area of her practice that she wishes to expand. She appreciates that a different approach is required in dealing with such cases and the importance of sensitivity.
Employment
Georgina has enjoyed considerable experience in employment cases, having received instructions through the Free Representation Unit. She has been involved in a variety of claims, including unfair dismissal, disability discrimination and cases under the TUPE legislation.
