Huw Rees is a specialist Criminal Practitioner with many years of experience in serious crime. He is continually instructed in serious, sensitive and high profile cases. He is particularly experienced in sexual offences, child abuse, fraud, violence and serious drug crime.
Huw is a Grade 4 prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service and is instructed in a wide variety of cases for both prosecution and defence. He has acted as a junior advocate in high profile murder trials.
Appointments have included Customs and Excise Approved list of counsel, Dyfed-Powys Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, Legal Wales Standing Committee, former Junior of Wales and Chester Circuit. He is a member of the Criminal Bar Association.
Significant cases include R-v-D and J [1997] 2WLR (West Wales Paedophile case), R-v-Swansea Crown Court ex parte Stacey [1990] Crim.L.R 260
Huw is a Welsh speaker and often defends and prosecutes in the Welsh language.
