Iwan Davies is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Hodge Chair in Law at University of Wales, Swansea.  He was educated at University of Wales and obtained a PhD from Jesus College, Cambridge before joining Iscoed Chambers in 1995.

His practice specialises in Civil Law with a particular interest in Hire Purchase and Lease contracts.  He is an advisor to major UK trade associations including the Finance and Leasing Associations, the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association and the Retail Motor Industry Federation.  He acts as Retained Counsel for HPI Limited. 

Iwan has many notable publications to his name including Sale & Supply of Goods (Sweet & Maxwell), Equipment & Motor Vehicle Hiring and Leasing and Practice.  He contributes to the Butterworths Common Law series on sale of goods.

Iwan is a Welsh speaker and has acted as an advisor to the police forces on the use of the Welsh Language.  He is also a member of the Standing Committee of Legal Wales.
