Craig was born and educated in the local area (originating from Mumbles). He went on to read Law at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, graduating in 2002. He was called to the Bar in 2003 following completion of pupillage with Huw Rees and Laraine Roblin and has been in practice ever since.

Craig has successfully built and maintains a deliberately mixed Criminal, Civil and Family practice. He as earned a reputation for providing clear, firm advice and for his effective advocacy.

His Family practice includes all Private Law children cases, together with Applications pursuant to Part IV of the Family Law Act.

He is instructed by the Prosecution and Defence in the Crown and Magistrates Courts throughout South and West Wales and beyond in a variety of cases which span the spectrum of criminal litigation.

Craig is a Grade 4 Prosecutor, and has extensive experience in large and complex criminal litigation, with recent cases including defending in a 10 handed Call Centre fraud and prosecuting several large drug conspiracies.

In addition to the Crown Prosecution Service (including the Complex Case Work Unit, for which he recently appeared as junior Counsel in a modern day ‘slavery’ Trial which attracted national media attention), Craig is regularly instructed by a variety of other prosecuting agencies including a number of Local Authorities.

Craig has established a good following amongst local defence solicitors and is routinely instructed in cases involving violence (serious and otherwise), drugs and a variety of sexual offences (including matters involving serious sexual offences before the Youth Court).

Craig has an interest in regulatory offences (including food safety, licencing, health and safety act prosecutions, Natural Resources Wales prosecutions) and motoring offences (ranging from speeding and section 172 to causing death by dangerous driving).

Being a keen shotgun, pistol and rifle shot, Craig frequently represents prosecution, defence, the Police and private individuals in cases including the possession of firearms and appeals in relation to issue and revocation of both Shotgun and Firearms Certificates.

In addition to the Crown Prosecution Service and local solicitors, his client list has included one of the largest independent supermarkets in Wales, a multi-national construction company, several large taxi operators and a foreign embassy.

Craig’s civil practice encompasses Personal Injury, Licencing (including Taxi and Alcohol, where he acts for Local Authorities and private individuals and companies alike), Contract and other general civil work. He acts on Conditional Fee Basis in appropriate cases.

Additionally, Craig is experienced at conducting hearings before Courts Martial and Coroner’s Courts.

Craig is a fully qualified aeroplane and helicopter pilot, has both a practical and academic knowledge of aviation law as it applies to General Aviation and has advised in a number of prosecutions initiated by the Civil Aviation Authority.
