Barrister

Gareth was called to the Bar in 2008 and admitted as a Solicitor in 2016. Since 2008, he has worked at national law firms where he specialised in civil litigation and personal injury.

He also gained experience at representing clients at the county courts in various disputes. Gareth also has experience of management having worked as a manager in previous employment.

Given his significant experience of working within large law firms, he is well adept with the importance of prioritisation of work and organisation.

Gareth appears in court daily, representing clients in all areas of Civil, Criminal, Employment and Regulatory / Professional Discipline. He regularly appears in the County, Magistrates’ and Crown Courts nationwide.

Gareth has a busy paperwork practice and is regularly instructed to advise on liability / quantum, and to draft pleadings.

He is also instructed to represent clients in mediations and inquests.

Personal Injury

Gareth has practiced in Personal Injury for over 10 years. He enjoys a busy practice at chambers and is instructed in claims arising out of road traffic accidents, occupiers’ liability, public liability, disease, product liability, employers’ liability and the Highways Act. He is also instructed in claims arising from accidents and injuries abroad which are brought under the Package Travel Regulations.

He regularly appears in trials, application hearings, disposal hearings and CCMCs.

He also acts for both Claimants and Defendants in cases where fundamental dishonesty is alleged in respect of the circumstances of the accident, the independence of witnesses, and the nature of the injuries sustained. He is adept in dealing with low velocity impact (LVI) cases.

Credit Hire

Gareth is regularly instructed by both Claimants and Defendants in credit hire cases.

Landlord and Tenant

Gareth is regularly instructed by both landlords and tenants in possession / housing disrepair claims and all aspects of Landlord and Tenant / Housing matters.

General Civil Litigation

Gareth enjoys a mixed civil litigation practice and accepts instructions in a variety of civil law hearings.

Employment

Gareth accepts instructions to represent Claimants or Respondents in the Employment Tribunal. He also provides opinion and advice on proceedings.

Crime

Gareth is regularly instructed to prosecute and defend cases in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts. He is a member of the CPS Advocate Panel Scheme.
