About Us

We are a highly motivated set of individual barristers with a common purpose; providing excellent advocacy and advisory services to clients throughout Wales and beyond. Competitive, efficient, practical and professional, we recognise the centrality of the client in everything that we do.

We are constantly evolving and challenging ourselves to provide a better service to our clients. We strive to ensure that the recruitment of members and pupils upholds our reputation for providing exceptional barristers in a variety of areas and at all levels of seniority.

Iscoed can draw on nearly 100 years of experience during which time former members have attained significant achievements; from the Attorney General, to appointments to the Court of Appeal, High Court and Circuit Bench. Today’s members take pride in the history of Chambers whilst aiming to enhance Iscoed’s reputation throughout the Welsh Circuit and beyond.

Barristers in chambers offer a wide range of expertise and specialisation over a broad spectrum of work; please see the individual specialist areas for further details. Advocacy and advisory work is undertaken at all levels.

The following are invited to contact the clerks on 01792 652988 or clerks@iscoedchambers.co.uk for a quote for our barristers’ services:

  • Solicitors or other practising lawyers;
  • Licensed Access clients, who may either hold a licence issued by the Bar Standards Board, or be a member of a professional body which has been recognised by the Bar Standards Board; and
  • Members of the public who wish to instruct a barrister under the Public Access scheme.

We will provide you with a quote as soon as possible. We always aim to set out quotes clearly, but if you receive your quote and there is something you do not understand, please contact us.

Where the client is not eligible for legal aid a fee can be agreed on an hourly rate or as a fixed fee. Factors that affect the level of fee include the level of expertise and experience of the barrister, the length of time involved in dealing with the case and the complexity of the case.

Our barristers also accept instructions under conditional fee agreements (“no win, no fee” agreements) in certain circumstances. For information, please contact the clerks on 01792 652988 / clerks@iscoedchambers.co.uk.

Timescales for a case may vary depending on factors such as barristers’ availability, the type and complexity of the case, the other side’s approach and court waiting times.

We have a dedicated and experienced clerking team which is supported by a highly efficient administrative team. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact them. The clerks will be happy to discuss your requirements.
