Danielle is a Family Law Barrister with expertise in Public and Private Law Children proceedings

Family Law
Danielle became a Tenant at Iscoed Chambers in October 2019 following the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Paul Hobson (Criminal Law) and Philippa Ashworth (Family Law), which commenced in October 2018.
Since joining Chambers, Danielle has developed a busy Family Law practice. Danielle undertakes work across various areas of Family law, including Public Law Children (Care), Private Law Children, Family Law Act proceedings (Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders). Danielle receives instructions from various clients, including Local Authorities, parents, other family members and also children/Children’s Guardians at all stages of proceedings and before all levels of Tribunal. Danielle has experience in cross-examining a wide range of witnesses, both professionals including experts and lay persons. 
Danielle is acknowledged for her thorough preparation, sensitive yet robust client care and ability to adapt to clients in all types of cases and with varying abilities. 
Prior to joining Iscoed Chambers, Danielle worked within the Childcare Legal Department of a Local Authority. 

 

Experience in other areas of law
During Pupillage and for a number of years following Tenancy at Iscoed Chambers, Danielle regularly appeared in the Magistrates Court as both Prosecution and Defence Counsel in a wide variety of matters including sentencing hearings, trials and the Youth Court. She also routinely appeared in the Crown Court acting on behalf of the Prosecution; including the Crown Prosecution Service, Local Authorities and the National Probation Service; and on behalf of the Defence.

 

Education
Danielle was educated at Dyffryn Comprehensive School in Port Talbot and completed the LLB in Law at Cardiff University, where she received a First Class Honours. 
Danielle was called to the Bar in 2015, after completing the Bar Professional Training Course, for which she received a Very Competent grade. Danielle is a member of the Honourable Society of Inner Temple.
